Design Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a PEMB Design Engineer to join a well-established steel building manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, responsiveness, and technical expertise. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep MBS knowledge who enjoys working on a wide variety of PEMB projects in a flexible, remote environment.
This position will support commercial, industrial, aviation, mini-storage, and specialty building projects across multiple complexity levels. The engineer will play a key role in PEMB system design, project coordination, and foundation-related engineering support.
Key Responsibilities

This role is ideal for an engineer with deep MBS knowledge who enjoys working on a wide variety of PEMB projects in a flexible, remote environment.
This position will support commercial, industrial, aviation, mini-storage, and specialty building projects across multiple complexity levels. The engineer will play a key role in PEMB system design, project coordination, and foundation-related engineering support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design pre-engineered metal building systems across varying project types and complexity levels
- Review project drawings, specifications, and documentation to identify and resolve conflicts
- Modify and maintain MBS files and databases as needed
- Coordinate with drafting teams to redline and finalize drawing packages
- Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders
- Support foundation design efforts for PEMB projects
- Provide practical engineering solutions with attention to constructability and field application
- Arizona PE preferred, though reciprocity will be considered
- Strong working knowledge of MBS software and database modification required
- 6–10+ years of PEMB engineering experience preferred
- Understanding of PEMB systems, detailing, and field applications
- Foundation design experience preferred, though training can be provided
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
